ORGANIC CARE FOR TREES, SHRUBS, AND PALMS
Are your palms losing color, shrubs showing weak growth, or trees developing changes that regular watering has not fixed? My Organic Turf provides organic tree and shrub care services for palms, oaks, ornamental shrubs, and other landscape plants on residential properties.
We start with the plant’s condition. Its foliage, growth, location, soil, irrigation, and visible symptoms all matter. From there, our Service Pros recommend organic-based fertilization or targeted palm trunk injections when more specific care is needed.
A CLEAR PLANT CARE PLAN
We begin with the affected tree, shrub, or palm, but we also check what is happening around it. Irrigation, drainage, nearby plants, recent landscape work, and changes to the root area can all provide useful information.
Tell us when the symptoms began and whether you've recently fertilized, trimmed, transplanted, or treated the plant.
The location of the damage matters. Older leaves may show one type of problem, while injured new growth can point in another direction. We look at the foliage, branches, trunk where applicable, and visible root area before narrowing down the likely cause.
If the tree or shrub appears to need nutrition, we explain the fertilization plan. If a palm may benefit from a trunk injection, we discuss what the treatment is intended to address and whether repeat visits are needed.
When the problem falls outside our plant health services, we will not present fertilization as a cure.
Our Service Pros apply fertilizer around the appropriate root area, following the treatment plan for the plant and property. When a palm trunk injection is recommended, we administer the prescribed treatment directly into the palm.
Trees, shrubs, and palms do not change overnight. We explain what signs to watch, when new growth may provide a clearer picture, and whether another visit should be scheduled.
Future visits allow us to check the plant's response and watch for new symptoms. If the condition changes, the recommendation may need to change as well.
TREE, SHRUB, AND PALM SERVICES
Trees and palms need balanced nutrition for healthy roots, foliage, and new growth. Nutrient deficiencies can cause yellowing leaves, slow growth, and reduced tolerance to environmental stress.
Our Service Pros use organic-based fertilization suited to the plant’s needs, soil conditions, and surrounding landscape. We focus on supporting healthy new growth rather than promising to reverse existing damage. Learn more about our tree and palm care services.
Yellowing leaves, thinning foliage, and weak growth can indicate nutritional problems, poor drainage, or irrigation stress. Different shrubs have different needs, so the cause matters.
We check the shrub’s condition, soil moisture, and growing environment before recommending organic-based fertilization or other appropriate care. Our lawn and shrub care services also address nutrition and growing conditions across the landscape.
Certain palm health concerns require more than soil fertilization. Trunk injections deliver prescribed treatments directly into the palm and may be used for eligible preventive or health management programs.
Our Service Pros assess the palm’s species, symptoms, and overall condition before recommending injections. We explain the treatment’s purpose, limitations, and any follow-up schedule.
KNOW WHAT TO WATCH FOR
Trees, shrubs, and palms change naturally as older leaves and fronds age. One yellow leaf is not always a sign of trouble. A pattern of decline, sudden change, or damage affecting new growth deserves a closer look.
Contact My Organic Turf if you notice:
Photos can help show how quickly the condition is changing. Take them from the same position every few days and avoid removing damaged growth before the plant has been assessed.
A leaning tree, split trunk, hanging limb, or other structural hazard requires an appropriately qualified tree professional. Our services focus on tree, shrub, and palm health, nutrition, and eligible palm trunk treatments.
AFTER TREE, SHRUB, OR PALM CARE
Aftercare depends on whether the plant received fertilization, a palm trunk injection, or another approved service. Follow the instructions provided for your property.
Roots need moisture, but constantly wet soil can create further problems. Follow watering guidance for the plant, soil, and season rather than watering on a fixed schedule.
Do not rake away, relocate, or cover a recent soil application unless instructed. Let us know if heavy rain or irrigation moves the material outside the intended area.
If a palm received a trunk injection, do not pick at, cover, or place products over the injection point. Follow the aftercare instructions our Service Pros provide.
Removing damaged leaves or fronds too soon can make the plant harder to assess. Some declining palm fronds may still provide nutrients. Avoid unnecessary trimming until we have explained what should be removed.
Avoid digging, trenching, piling soil, or placing heavy materials around the base of trees and shrubs. Root damage can interfere with recovery and add further stress.
Let us know if foliage declines quickly, new growth becomes damaged, or nearby trees, shrubs, or palms begin showing similar signs.
PALM HEALTH CONCERNS
Lethal bronzing is a serious palm disease found in parts of Florida. It affects certain palm species and can progress once symptoms begin.
Possible signs include early fruit drop, dying flower stalks, lower fronds turning bronze or brown, and the central spear leaf collapsing. These symptoms do not always appear at the same time, and several other palm problems can look similar.
No treatment can restore a palm after the disease has advanced. Preventive antibiotic trunk injections may be recommended for susceptible, uninfected palms. Palms showing symptoms of lethal bronzing generally cannot be saved with injections and may require removal.
Timing matters. A palm that has lost its central spear or suffered extensive canopy decline may already be too damaged to respond. Nearby susceptible palms may also need assessment.
Do not assume that every browning palm has lethal bronzing. Watering problems, nutritional deficiencies, root damage, and other conditions can cause discoloration. We check the palm before selecting a treatment plan.
Florida’s heat, humidity, seasonal rainfall, and dry periods can affect how trees, shrubs, and palms grow. Our Service Pros consider these conditions before recommending care.
Too much water can stress roots, while dry soil can slow growth and cause foliage to decline. We check irrigation, drainage, and soil moisture to understand what each plant needs.
Construction, digging, new pavement, and landscaping can disturb roots or change drainage. We assess the surrounding area for conditions that may be affecting plant health.
Trees, shrubs, and palms do not all need the same fertilizer. We consider the plant species, soil conditions, and signs of nutrient deficiency before recommending organic-based fertilization.

COMMON TREE AND SHRUB CARE QUESTIONS
Find clear answers about fertilization, palm trunk injections, plant symptoms, service timing, and what professional care can reasonably accomplish.
Discolored leaves, weak growth, and thinning foliage should be checked before adding more fertilizer. Tell My Organic Turf what has changed, which plants are affected, and when you first noticed the symptoms.
Our Service Pros will assess the plants and their surroundings, explain what may be causing the decline, and recommend organic-based fertilization or a targeted palm treatment when appropriate. You will understand what the service is meant to do, what it cannot correct, and what to watch for afterward.
